The artifical veneer is a kind of decorative hardwood veneer. It is made from natural fastgrowing renewable wood and is produced by compression moulding forming different colours of dyed veneers by keeping the natural features of the wood, but free from defects. It is widely used for furniture, door skins/covers, cabinets, flooring etc.

At Coverdoors your Armored door is custom made to suit your style and needs, custom made sizing, custom made glass sidelight options – in decorative, opaque, left, right or both and your custom made outer layer known as the veneer – your choice of artificial or natural.

How do you distinguish the difference between artificial and natural veneer?

Natural veneer always has a natural colour, strong growth rings, depending on the type of wood and is more clear or alive than artificial, which is more blurred. Natural veneer belongs to natural wood and the artificial veneer is made using fast growing wood of various modified processes after going through a series of pattern design, dyeing, reconstruction, post-treatment, high temperature, and high pressure. There is no artificial modification to the natural texture and colour of natural veneer. It has a simple wood aroma and strong texture.

Artificial or otherwise known as engineered veneer, imitates the texture of the natural veneer but there are still some noticeable differences. The texture of the engineered veneer is more rigid than the natural veneer and after treatment gets a smooth surface and a rich colour.
